This Privacy Policy sets out how Misty’s Guided Walks (‘we’/’us’/’our’) uses and protects any information that you give us when using this website or engaging us with any of our services. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. If we ask you to provide any information, it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Data Protection

 

All information passed to Misty’s Guided Walks by you will be treated as confidential. However, as part of our safety management system, it is important that your booking form is passed onto a designated person or persons representing Misty’s Guided Walks so that in the event of an emergency a line of communication may be established to you and/or your emergency contact. This information will not be passed on to any third parties except, if necessary, to the emergency services.


 

What personal data do we collect?

 

Contact via email, or telephone: If you contact us by email, we will have a record of your email address and the contents. If contact is by telephone we may take a note of your name and any other details that may be relevant to the call.

If you engage us for the services we provide: ‘Private Guiding’ or 'Group Walks/Events' we will ask for you to complete a booking form which includes personal contact information, emergency contact, and any relevant medical information. This may be held in electronic and/or paper format. This will also request information of next of kin should we need to contact someone in an emergency. You must inform us if you would like this information to be permanently deleted after your booking has ended. 


 

Sharing of information

Misty’s Guided Walks does not collect personal information for sale to third parties for marketing purposes. On rare occasions where a sub-contractor (‘freelance instructor’) is engaged to deliver a booking on our behalf, we may share your booking form with them. We request that this is destroyed or deleted after the booking is complete. In the event of a medical emergency, any relevant information may be passed onto the emergency services.

 

Payments

If you engage us for the services we provide: ‘Private Guiding’ or 'Group Walks' we will send you an invoice by email with your name and address and our bank/payment details. We accept payment by bank transfer (BACS), and cheque. No further payment information or bank details are held by us.

 

Cookies and Google Analytics

We use a minimal number of cookies. Upon your first visit to the website you will see a pop-up requesting your permission to accept cookies. If you agree, the cookie file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic.  You can block cookies by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all areas of our website. A cookie does not give us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

 

Subject Access Requests (SAR)

Data Protection Legislation gives you the right to access information held about you. You can find out what personal information Misty’s Guided Walks holds about you by making a ‘Subject Access Request’. If you decide to email us, it would be helpful if you could use the term “Subject Access Request” in the subject line of the email. Your request should include evidence to confirm your identity (e.g. copy of driving license, passport, birth certificate). If specific information is required it would be best to state this in your SAR.

 

On receipt of the SAR we will respond as quickly as possible and, if not included with the request, we may ask for more information to enable us to reasonably check the identity of the person making the SAR. Once the identity has been confirmed we will then fulfil the SAR within 30 days.

Automated decision making – We currently do not use any newsletters or similar. Should we do so in the future, you will be able to opt out of these at any time.


Right of Access – you have a right to request access to the personal data we hold on file for you. You can also obtain information on how it is processed.

Right of Rectification – you may have a right to ask for your personal data to be corrected or completed.

Right of Portability – you have the right to copy, move or transfer your personal data to another organisation 

Right to be Forgotten – You have the right to ask us to delete your information. If we need your medical information for your upcoming walk, we have a legal duty to retain your information so we may not be able to carry out your request. 

Right to Object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing of your personal data. i.e, the use of direct marketing.

Right to Restriction of processing – you have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data.
