Who Are We?

We are a small, friendly, local company based on the beautiful North-West coast of Cumbria. We are passionate about the mountains and love nothing better than exploring and showing visitors around our local fells. Originally from Yorkshire, Sharon is a MTA qualified summer mountain leader who moved here in 2008 with her fiancé Bob. They have 2 German Shepherds who also love to walk around the valleys and lower hills of the Lakes. They don't always come with us on the hill so don't worry if you'd rather enjoy a dog-free day. Sharon loves taking photos - all but two of the photos on this site are taken by her!

Why Choose Us?

 

When looking for a mountain guide, you want someone who is well-trained and experienced. But you may not have the budget to book with a larger company, especially if you're a solo hiker.

Our mountain leader has received the same high level of training as the larger companies, and has over 30 years of mountain experience. We have more flexibility and are a fraction of the cost of some larger companies, especially for solo hikers, which means you can enjoy an amazing day out in the mountains without having to worry about minimum group numbers or a hefty price tag. If the weather forecast is bad, we can usually change the date so you get to enjoy your day in the sun. 

 

Because we don't cover the more dangerous scrambles such as Sharp Edge, Striding Edge or Jack's Rake, and keep our walks to around 6-8 miles long, we are able to keep our prices lower than many of our competitors. This doesn't mean you can't go up Helvellyn, Blencathra or the Langdale Pikes though, we just take a safer route to the summit and you get to enjoy the same fantastic views without the difficult terrain which scrambling requires - great news if you're a little nervous of steep drops, have a dog on a lead, or you just don't like scrambling!
